HISTORY

Rhythmic Gymnastic that originated in Sweden in the early 20th century by Émile Jaques-Dalcrozem, formerly called Eurhythmics. This programmed did not start competing until the really 1940's; the first competition was held by Soviet Russia, and the competitive program continued to develop until the 1960's when the first Championship was organized in 1963 in Budapest, Hungary. This European form of gymnastics finally made its way to the big stage in America in the early 1980's, It was introduced into the Olympic games in 1983 in Los Angeles, Ca.
